Founded in 1979, Bateman Books is an award-winning publisher of New Zealand and international books, and is one of the largest independent distributors and publishers of general trade books in New Zealand.
Bateman publishes a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books, specialising in richly illustrated titles with high production values across a number of genres, including Māori and Pasifika, natural history and culture, lifestyle, food, health, sport, craft and children’s. Bateman produces titles as international co-editions for publishers around the world, including USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, Australia, South America, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, China and Spain.
