The Axeman’s Carnival also won the Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction at the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards 2023.

Astrid Matijasevich is a graphic designer who has illustrated over 50 educational titles for Wendy Pye Publishing and Reed Publishing.
