Massey University Press publishes award-winning books across a range of genres. Its list reflects its core principles of ‘explore, explain, engage’, and includes history, design, art, architecture, biography and memoir, agricultural science, veterinary science, poetry, children’s, Asia and Pacific studies, te ao Māori, natural history and contemporary issues.

The Press is well known for the superior design quality of its books and for the efforts it makes to create books that exceed reader expectations. It is headed by two very experienced book publishing professionals: Nicola Legat, the Publisher, is the former Publishing Director of Random House New Zealand, and Tracey Borgfeldt, the Associate Publisher, was for many years the Publisher at Bateman Books.
