This simple, yet beautiful story explores deep themes of emotional intelligence, while remaining light and joyful for its young audience. Written for children ages 3-6, it’s a story about a sad penguin named Blue who meets a wise owl named Ruru. What makes Ruru so wise? Ruru does not try to change Blue’s feelings. He simply offers his hand. Ruru learns how hard it can be to go about his day whilst holding a friend’s hand. Chopsticks? Yikes! Scooters? Eek! In the end, two great friends teach each other about kindness and friendship.
