One dark and windy night as Henry lay in bed,
listening to a storm whistling through the trees
he thought he heard a strange sound.

In the morning Henry finds a hurt goose in his sandbox. He calls him HONK. As Honk recuperates he and Henry form a wonderful friendship. Honk follows Henry around the property and shares his adventures and Henry learns to be gentle, respect his guest. He also learns how to let HONK go when he is ready to fly back to his flock. A simple story of friendship, acceptance, and respect of wildlife.

is the author of many books for children – picture books, junior fiction and authors books for adults.

Astrid Matisjasevich is a renowned illustrator who works for Sunshine Books and lives in Auckland – famous for her quirky modern style. She illustrated Jiffy Cat Detective by Catherine Chidgey published in 2019.
